Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry Funny Moments 2017

This year's NBA Finals featured three current all-time greats: LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry.
The Cleveland Cavaliers had one. The Golden State Warriors had two, and they won in five games.
There was more to the five-game clash of the NBA's elite, but it's indisputable that the Dubs had two megastars teaming up for highlight after highlight. The duo combined for 41 points in the first half on Monday night; they finished with a combined 73.

Let's look at the best of KD and Steph throughout the series below:
Kevin Durant
Dunkfest in Game 1
KD dunked six times in the first half of Game 1.
Six.
The Slim Reaper hammered an alley-oop from Draymond Green nearly three minutes into the contest, and from there it was a full-fledged throw-down party.

Durant scored 38 points in what became a 113-91 rout. His rim-rocking performance set the tone for the series.

Years from now, this is the play we'll all remember from the 2017 NBA Finals.
After getting drubbed in the opening two contests, Cleveland came to play in Game 3. It was all going right. Kyrie Irving was cooking; LBJ dropped 39 points and came an assist shy of a triple-double; JR Smith regained his stroke.
The Cavs were in business, leading 113-111 with 52.5 seconds left. James hit Kyle Korver for an open three.

Clang. Durant snared the rebound, dribbled four times and pulled up for a contested left-wing three over James. Swoosh.
That all but sealed a 3-0 lead for the Dubs. If KD had missed that triple and the Cavaliers had held on, it's likely we'd have been writing about a potential Game 6.
Jawing with LeBron

In Game 4, which became Cleveland's only win of the series, KD and James jawed at one another in the second half.

It wasn't venomous—the star forwards are friends off the court. But, according to Sports Illustrated's Lee Jenkins, the exchange was symbolic:
Midway through the third quarter of Game 4, Durant grew irate at a flagrant foul by Love, and James appeared nonplussed at Durant's reaction. They came together by the scorer's table at Quicken Loans Arena, the best and second-best players on the planet, finally nose-to-nose. The details of their debate were insignificant. "What matters," a Durant confidant said, "is that Kevin didn't back down from him."
Looking back, this moment could be remembered as a turning point for KD.
Stephen Curry
Karate Kick
Like KD's dunk-a-thon, this Game 1 high kick set the tone for the series. It also instantly became a Twitter meme:

More importantly, Steph's kick was the knockout blow in what was a one-sided fight all night.
Scoring on LeBron
Bleacher Report @ BleacherReportDouble-dribble or nah? 🤔 (@NBA, h/t ballgod/Instagram) https://t.co/D2uAVXPbKL
It's rare in today's NBA for superstars to go one-on-one. Teams often employ defensive stoppers to slow down the game's best. Players at different positions are even less likely to square off.
But here we were. Early in the third quarter of Game 2, James ended up on Curry. And instead of blocking (and smirking at) the point guard, LBJ got taken to the rack.
Here's video of the highlight from NBA.com:

The two-time reigning MVP danced and danced until he shook the King for a moment. Then he glided to the cup for an easy deuce after what is widely believed to be a double-dribble. James smashed his hand off the backcourt, but Curry was too slick.
Smoking a Special Cigar

After the final horn of Game 5, Curry did several interviews puffing a cigar. CJ Fogler captured video of Klay Thompson's jealousy:

There was a story to the cigar, though, Steph explained to the NBA TV crew. BBall Society passed along footage of the interview:

Curry cherished the stogie so much that, at one point in the celebration, he shielded it from champagne in his shoe, via Janie McCauley of the Associated Press:

With the Dubs' core likely returning, there's a good chance we'll see them in the NBA Finals again next year. It's unclear what Steph is saving for that celebration, if it does happen.
